How Your Tap Water Becomes Kangen Water

Kangen Water® is created through a two-step process that transforms ordinary tap water into clean, hydrogen-rich, antioxidant water. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Filtration

Tap water first passes through a high-grade internal filter, which removes chlorine, unpleasant tastes, odors, and sediments as small as 5 micrometers, ensuring cleaner water.

Step 2: Electrolysis

The filtered water then moves through electrode plates and membranes, where it is split into alkaline and acidic streams. During this process, hydroxide ions (OH⁻) and hydrogen ions (H⁺) separate.

At the cathode (- charged electrode), hydrogen ions gain electrons, forming molecular hydrogen (H₂), which enhances the water’s antioxidant properties. Meanwhile, at the anode (+ charged electrode), hydroxide ions release electrons, producing oxygen (O₂) and making the water more acidic. These two types of water are separated by membranes and dispensed through different hoses.

The number of electrode plates varies depending on the machine model.
